Everybody knows how our children can effect and change our lives. Persistent children can completely change our direction in life leading us down another path......this was so in our situation.

When our youngest son was 5 years old, there was only one topic: I want to get a dog! After a year he persuaded us to buy a dog. We chose from a book a Welsh Springer Spaniel. In April 1996 a little, 9 week old WSS-bitch came to us from Danmark, called Danebod's Laura "Kajsa" and became our new family member. This was the beginning.......
Kajsa developed into a typical Welsh Springer bitch, who delighted everyone with her charme and her kindness. My interest in this breed grew and we decided to breed. Unfortunately Kajsa had very bad hips, so I was unable to breed from her. Kajsa has been living with friends in Braunschweig since 2001 and she is very happy and greatly loved.

In the autumn of 1997 Hammalgårdens Unfinished Symphony "Fini" came into our lives.
Fini became the foundation-bitch of my kennel "Welsh of Salt and Pepper". She is the mother of 22 puppies
from three litters. In 2000 I kept Again and Again Welsh of Salt and Pepper "Flicka" out of Fini's first litter,
who now lives with our Swedish friends in Fagersanna (Sweden). |

Nele is the mother of my youngest bitch Dream A Dream Welsh of Salt and Pepper "Sally".
Sally seems to be my "dream" of a Welsh Springer; everyday I get more and more enthusiastic
about her temperament, her working abilities and her confirmation. 2009 Sally got her first litter of 8 puppies. |

Now three generations - Fini, Nele and Sally - live with us in the old and beautiful
Salt- and Hanseatic City of Lüneburg. This is why we chose the kennelname
"Welsh of Salt and Pepper" because Salt and Pepper always stick together.
"Welsh from white gold (salt) and hot chili-pepper! This combination perfectly describes the temperament of the Welsh Springer; you can't have one without the other!
We - these are my husband Thomas, my youngest son Jonas and me - may have never thought about breeding Welsh Springers, had I not studied biology. This has become a wonderful opportunity to combine the theory with practical experience.

My enthusiasm for Welsh Springers with its unique temperament, its special character and its appearance has never changed over the years. Although breeding of this rare breed is very difficult, I carry on loving Welshies and breeding my own Welsh Springers will remain my passionate hobby. Because of this puppies are available only from time to time.
My aims in breeding are to save the old type of Welsh Springer Spaniel, its wonderful temperament and its original working abilities as well as breeding phenotypical healthy dogs, who will delight their new owners like me.
